The Redeemed Apostolic Church of Christ was organized on July 24, 1988 by Elder Elijah Jones and Elder Joe Green. Following the voice of God, Elder Elijah Jones and Elder Joe Greene took the money needed for the first month’s rent out of their own pockets. The first service was held on Sunday July 24, 1988 in a small building off of Tryon Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. There were approximately 50 people in attendance. On August 2, 1988, Redeemed was dedicated to God and His people prepared to worship Him with special guests Bishop Fred Graham, Bishop Calvin McNeill, Elder Henry Small, Elder Willie Rutledge, Elder John Murray, Elder Connell Rice and Elder Bill Burrough.
On August 7, 1988, the first usher’s meeting was held. At this time there were only three ushers. Mother Rebecca Jones, Sis. Annie Greene, and Sis. Mary Morgan.
Due to growth and development, in January 1989 Redeemed moved to another building of Rush street, which was called the “Upper Room”. It is during this time Redeemed hosted its first Unity Meeting with the Pentecostal United Churches of Christ Apostolic Inc. using the church in Johnsonville, North Carolina. Our first Pastor’s Appreciation was held on August 23-27, 1989. Our unwavering trust and obedience to God was evident as we stepped out on faith once again. In 1990, Bro. Willie Greene and Sis. Barbara Bostic began the paperwork to purchase land for our very own sanctuary. This process was completed in April of 1990, with the purchase of six acres of land in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. In August of that year the blueprints were reviewed and contractors were interviewed. After careful consideration Carolina Model Homes was chosen to build our church. On June 2, 1991, we held our first service in our new sanctuary. In 1992 the fellowship hall construction began and was completed in 1996 providing three classrooms, offices for our pastor and assistant pastor, secretary office and three bathrooms.
Redeemed Apostolic Church of Christ is a special place where God’s Word is preached in and out of season. It is here that many chains have been broken and hearts made free. Many people have come and gone but the seed has been planted, and it is God who shall give the increase. He continues to add to the church daily such as should be saved
