Elijah & Cora Jones

Senior Pastors

Bishop Elijah Thomas Jones, son of the late Ambrose and Rebecca Jones was born on September 23, 1929 in Fuquay-Varina, NC. He was reared and attended school in Fuquay along with his brother and two sisters. He completed the 11th grade before joining the workforce on a full-time basis. He worked as a laborer for many years. In his spare time he pursued his interest in brick laying. He perfected his trade without any formal training and ran his own business for many years until he retired. Bishop Jones was greatly influenced by his uncle Weldon Jones who taught him many things. In September of 1955 he married Annie Ruth Williams also of Fuquay-Varina. For fifty-four years they were such an inspiration to all couples both in church and out. They displayed such a wonderful level of love, respect and dedication to each other. Sadly Annie passed away in July of 2010. It was after the passing of his father that Bishop Jones decided it was time to give his life to Christ. Bishop Jones was baptized and joined Saint Peters Holiness Church in 1967 under the leadership of Bishop Fred Williams. He went on to receive the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. He was ordained Deacon in 1978 and Elder in 1985. He also taught Sunday School during this time. He was a humble and faithful servant in that local assembly for twenty-one years. In the summer of 1988 he accepted the call to “Pastor” and Redeemed Apostolic C.O.C. was established. Bishop Jones has been a great leader from the beginning and has held fast to the teaching of the Apostolic doctrine. He was ordained Bishop on July 4, 2003 at Holy Convocation. Bishop currently serves on the National Board of Bishops and the National Treasurer Board. When asked if he could do it all over what would he change his answer was simply “I would not have waited so long to give my life to Christ.” On September 17, 2010 Bishop Jones married Cora Green. We are so honored to have Bishop Elijah T. Jones as our Pastor.
